I moved to NYC from Washington State about 13 years ago for a modeling career and a new life. It was an absolute culture shock in many ways but in this overview I’m going to touch on one aspect. Everyone seemed “slight of build” to me.

I remember at one point while I was going to a go-see trudging the streets of New York in the hot and humid month of August, I stopped at an intersection. I was in heels and noticed that I could see the tops of the heads of a sea of small and fine-boned people. “This is rather bazaar I laughed to myself.

What was going on? Although I was 250 lbs. at my heaviest when I lived in Seattle in my 20′s I was never conscious of the idea or of the limiting belief that “men like their women skinny and delicate”. That belief seemed to grow and anchor itself the longer I lived in NYC. I saw women obsessed with their weight almost possessed. Indeed the signs and the messages that I received is that “slim is more attractive”. “Skinny is attractive”. “To have a man, a woman has to be at least a size 6.”

This is a section on CGL where we devote time to confirm the fact that many beautiful, strong, and successful men prefer, love, adore…WORSHIP us, Curvy Goddesses. I’ll interview one man every single article. We’ll get to know the man — know why he loves us — and truly know that we are celebrated!

So, what did you think? Agree or disagree or do you have a few more words to add? Let me know what you thought about the article. Just leave a comment in the “Leave A Comment” box below. Follow me on Twitter “Like” Me On Facebook
