The Curvy Goddess Chronicles
I’m so excited about making the decision to just lay it on the line for you with this part of Curvy Goddess Lounge. The Curvy Goddess Chronicles category of the CGL site will be much more personal…opinions and ideas based on my unique perspective not only as a NYC personal trainer but as a living breathing Curvy Goddess.
Some may not agree with my opinions on some subjects but that’s okay because even if you may not agree I would love to have an on-going discussion about being a Curvy Goddess throughout all aspects of your life, from dating, to fashion, body acceptance, getting in curvy shape, to dieting and weight loss and other issues.
The Curvy Goddess Chronicles will focus on the emotional, mental, and psychological aspects of being a Curvy Goddess.
Although I have set-up Curvy Goddess Lounge as an informational and resource site for plus size women I think it is important to delve into other aspects of being a Curvy Goddess.
I’ve got to be honest with you. It’s tough sometimes to embrace my full-bodied self when others around me respect or value women who are slim.I’ve got to always consciously focus on re-creating a loving environment for myself.
Making the decision to just be as authentic as possible as a Curvy Goddess was difficult. It took me a couple of months to just say, “Diane, Go for it!”
I wrestled with the fear of being rejected by other Curvy Goddesses as a fitness professional.
But then there’s this deep desire to be accepted as a fellow Curvy Goddess. Not just seen as a professional but another Curvy Goddess who has the same needs, thoughts, and fears that my fellow readers have.
From this place of authenticity, my intention is to inspire and be inspired and to create a community filled with Curvy Goddesses who will step-up and finally be vocal.
Yes, be vocal. Have your say. Have you felt invisible? Have you felt like your voice has been muffled not only because you were a woman but also a Curvy Goddess?
For quite some time I have felt invisible from not fitting into the traditional standards of society and I’m thinking that this may be the best thing that has ever happened to me.
Xoxo,
Diane Williams

I’m a 31 yr old, mother of one. After I had my son, I suffered from severe postpartum depression that then continued on long after. I let things slide so bad that 5 yrs later I am 229 lbs and 8 dress sizes bigger. I looked in the mirror and cried thinking to myself “what did you do to yourself?” so I decided to do some research and came across your site; and pleased with the support that people seem to get for you as well as others on the site, I started doing your fat burning video and happily my son joined in. I am so looking forward to getting back in shape and healthy again! Thank you so much for what you have put together here!

Hi Lindsay,
Thank you for sharing with me what is going on with you. Please come back or send me an email and I will personally write back to you. I’d like to know how you are doing.
I believe this kind of dramatic, sudden weight gain can be shocking and extremely emotional for a woman. Take care.

HI! I’m new here and just found your site. I really like it.
Well, I’m 5’5″, 150 lbs (40C-30-40; size 12), light brownish-reddish hair (short length), & brown-green eyes.
For a long time, I didn’t like my curves or my weight gain (I went from 125 to my current weight in the last 5 years). But I have found some sites with beautiful, curvy, voluptuous women. Now I have more confidence in my size (I can still jog a mile very well still, thank God). I still workout, but to stay healthy and live longer. Not to be skinny anymore, like I used to.
I will greatly enjoy this site. Thanks for keeping me inspired and happy about me.
