My name is Diane Williams aka The Curvy Goddess. I’m a former plus size fashion model for the Wilhelmina Modeling Agency turned NYC personal trainer turned fitness professional and fitness advocate for women with curves.

I have always had the entrepreneurial spirit although laid dormant for a bit until I broke out of my shell. From shy and bashful to free, open spirit my passion is in everything to do with women who are curious about fitness and health and what it can do for them.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE being there with them while they pursue this path and I love to see their development. Having a front row seat to this process in a woman’s life is phenomenal and I am very fortunate.

I developed Curvy Goddess Lounge which is the main blog all about recreating a healthy, fit, powerful, and juicy lifestyle for the Curvy Goddess. My flagship service is Curvy Goddess Workout.

Hey y’all.. I’m Mara and I’m the editor over at Medicinal Marzipan, a blog about body image, authentic living, and learning to love the skin that you’re in – right this second. I’m from the school of thought that your body image and your ability to form a positive relationship with yourself impacts everything that you do, from getting dressed in the morning to maintaining healthy relationships to having a satisfying sex life to succeeding with your career.

Providing the emotional space for people to engage in honest and loving conversations with their bodies is something that has made me tick for quite some time, but for the past three years, I have been focused on taking these spaces to the internet and building a vibrant community around learning to love yourself.

I don’t current offer any services, but you can find the blog at http://www.medicinalmarzipan.com. Also please connect with me on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/medicinalmarzipan or twitter: http://www.twitter.com/mmarzipan.

* Who are you?
Hello everybody my name is Ebonie and I am a graduating senior at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. This year I have decided to follow my dreams and birth an event called the Fluffy Grl Summit. The Summit was created to spread body positivity and fat acceptance throughout the my college town, as well as its neighboring communities (and beyond). Our main focus is to uplift women who may have been told that their extra curves go against the ideology of beauty. The Summit will include a fashion show (showcasing student designers), a panel of sucessful Fluffy fashionistas who have careers in fields where plus women are deemed invisible (modeling, make up, blogging, hair, styling, ect). The third part of the show is set up like a business exposition. My hope is that numerous Plus size vendors and companies will support this cause and become apart of the movement that I am trying to propel here in Columbia. Although, I’m the event is taking place in a college town, I think this event can be something WONDERFUL. My dream is that it will begin a plus size community where younger women can begin to exchange fashion tips and empower one another instead of FORCING themselves into the mainstream backwash. WE are gorgeous at any size and I want this Summit to be a voice for that. So far things have slowly but surely fallen into place. The date and venue are both solidified but our panel professionals are not. Curvy Goddess I love the work that you do and I think that your expertise on what I call “Fluffy Fitness” would be well recieved and appreciated. If you or any other professional venue would like more information on the Fluffy Grl Summit, PLEASE do not hesitate to contact our Fluffy Grl Executive Board at fluffgirlMO@gmail.com. The Summit is in April and this is definately a dream of mine that I have been afraid to pursue but find more encouragement each day from blogs such as Curvy Goddess.

The Fluffy Grl Summit has numerous media outlets (all recently launched in December)
Our Twitter page features body positive messages from followers
@FluffyGrlSummit on twitter

Our FB page features weekly “Fluff Topics”
http://www.facebook.com/groups/231413020261074/

We also highlight the testimonies of fellow Fluffy Grls on our blog

*Feel free to check them out. We are currently working on our business letter and sponsorship packages, so as you can see we are really trying to go the distance.

Fluffly,

Hey there, my name is Aislynn and I’m a plus-size woman, domestic goddess, part-time student, and window-shopper extraordinaire. I live in Copenhagen, Denmark with my husband, Morten, and my adorable—and extremely demanding—Pekingese, Khan.

My passion is self-expression, and right now I’m expressing myself through what I’m wearing, so I suppose you could say plus-sized fashion is a passion. My goal with my blog is to not only encourage others to try new things, but also to challenge myself and my own thoughts regarding how to dress a curvier figure. I’ve embraced that I simply cannot “wait” to love myself until after I’ve lost weight, if I really want to be happy, I need to love myself as I am.

I deserve more than the old “when I reach X weight on the scale I’ll care more”, and so do others!

Reese June 11, 2012 at 2:06 pm

Hi,
I’m Reese and I’m a 26 year old, curvy fashionista! I’m from Atlanta, GA but have traveled a bit and lived in a couple different states. I love all things creative!…fashion, arts and music. I started my journy (not blog) at a size 18/20. I didn’t hate being a size 18/20 but I hated the fact that I wasn’t able to be myself because of that number. The weight limited my happiness. I love clothes and expressing my individuality with my style but at a size 20, I didn’t have much to choose from. I wasn’t happy. I didn’t see it as a challenge to weightloss but a challenge to do whatever it takes to make myself happy. The weightloss was a must in order to get where I wanted to be. Now at a size 12..I feel like “Reese”.
I started my blog because, I want to show other curvy women that you can look amazing at a size 12 or 20 and not have to dress ONE way all the time! If your not completely happy in your skin, you have the power to change that..I’m a walking testimony. My blog is for the young, edgy, unique and unconventional curvy girl..

Hello all!
My name is Maribel Moore *aka* Bella. I am 36 years old. I am the proud owner of a floral design company called Bella Fleur Designs in Dallas,TX. I love to be very creative and love everything that has to do with design or fashion. I have been married for almost 10 years and have two very handsome boys. At the beginning I never considered myself to be curvy and beautiful. But then I met my husband and it all changed. I was so wrong about feeling beautiful until he came along…
Well he gave me a new look at life. And it started from there. I had been designing for a very long time and never thought about showcasing my work or anything of that sort. Well he pushed and pushed, and out came “Bella Fleur Designs”
I offer beautiful floral design for any occasion. No job to big or small. I love what I do and seeing the look on brides faces when they see their arrangements. I have a confidence about myself now and do feel like a size 18. But know I know I am a beautiful 18. I have started to work out and my husband does to to help keep me motivated. My goal is to grow my company into a great company with many clients. If you need any floral services please feel free to contact me. bellafleurdesigns.com & facebook.com/bellafleurdesigns . From one happy curvy goddess to another.. Have a blessed day and stay beautiful.

Halawa runs the uber-successful Zahirah Middle Eastern Belly Dance School in Prince George. She has taken Teacher Training Level I with international master dancer Hadia and has trained with a variety of excellent teachers including Nath Keo, Saboura, Xanthoula, Yasmina Ramzy, Bozenka, and Ava Fleming.

The Zahirah Middle Eastern Belly Dancers have successfully competed in the Prince George Dance Festival and recieved top honors for their enthusiastic and exotic art form. The choreographies written by Halawa are award winning year after year.

Halawa’s passion in life is Middle Eastern Belly Dance. Teaching classes at a variety of locations both local and internationally, designing and making costumes, performing, and her crown jewel – the anual student Gala. Each year end after the students have worked extremely hard to perfect the sensual moves of this dance, Halawa, with the help of her wonderful students hosts the Zahirah Middle Eastern Belly Dance Student Performance Gala. A magical event that boasts over 350 guests, buffet dinner, and a variety of performers from the beginner to the advanced.

Halawa was given the opportunity to perform in the 2009 production of Ashra featuring world renouned Bozenka. This amazing production was to celebrate Nath Keo’s 10th anniversary in Middle Eastern Bellydance. Dancing in the McPherson Theatre in Victoia, B.C. was a dream come true for Halawa as it put her talent and this beautiful art form on the same stage as the National Ballet. Halawa was recently asked to return for the 2010 performace in Victoria in October to accompany the amazing Ava Fleming in Nath Keo’s An Eveing at the Oasis. The show was a huge success for all of the dancers ivolved.

In October 2011 Halawa was presented with the amazing opportunity to perform with not one but two world renouned artists Pavlo-God of the Greek Guitar, and Jesse Cook. Halawa joined Pavlo and his band on stage at the Prince George Playhouse for a dynamic perfromance on Oct. 25th. In the same week Jesse Cook took to the stage at Vanier Hall in Prince George and Halawa was joined with her fellow troupe members for an encore presentation of Jesse Cook’s Baghdad on Oct.28th. Both artists were a pure joy to work with and the memories will last a lifetime.

The International Bellydance Conference of Canada was created by Yasmina Ramzy in order address the concerns and needs of today’s Middle Eastern Dancer in Canada and around the world. The conference serves to foster a broad range of education, networking opportunities, and artistic inspiration. It supports the community in its efforts to make the general public more of aware of this rich and politically historical art form. May 2012 marks the fourth International Bellydance Conference in Toronto, Canada. Halawa has been asked to perform on the MainStage along with elite artists that have travelled the globe to participate at the IBCC with their submissions chosen from over 120 applicants by a jury of esteemed Middle Eastern dance experts.

Hi everyone…My name is Wanda.
I kept a diary of everything I ate for two weeks. When I went over it with my nutritionist…I was horrified. I am a nurse, and should know better. I allowed myself to use my busy life as an excuse to abuse my body (no exercise, fast food etc.) I am the proud mother of six boys and there is never a dull moment with them. I don’t have the time to visit the gym. I have committed myself to staying active. I challenge myself every week. The motivation from Curvy Goddess is helping me so much.

Hi my name is Monique, I’m 36 years old. I live in Southern California. I have been plus size all of my life. and I have struggled with it. Where I am at now is the biggest I have been. I just found out that my blood pressure is high and I have high Cholesterol. I was so mad at myself when I found this out. I have known for years that these things run on both sides of my family. So I was mad at myself for letting me get this way. Last year I went on a diet. I exercised every day, ate healthy. Not that that I don’t eat healthy already. I lost 15 lbs. I was very proud of myself. But then I fell off the wagon and put it back on. I use to think that if I lost weight I would have to be super skinny. Especially living in California. But I have come to love my curves. I want to lose weight to be healthy and happy, not to be skinny. I want to keep the curves I am proud to have. I have a great boyfriend who loves me just the way I am. But he is all for me being healthy and happy. He makes me feel beautiful every day and he is a great support system for me. I found this site through Facebook. And after reading Diana’s story, I was inspired more. It’s comforting knowing that I’m not alone in feeling like this and what I want. I look forward to readying more stories from other women like me. and I look forward to sharing my journey with all of you beautiful women!!!

Hi everyone,
I am Ambika- a work from home mom to two cheeky devils who mean the world to me!
I cooled my heels as a hands-on mom for nearly 15 years after marriage till I happened to try my hand at freelance writing at the recommendation of a friend, who knew that I was looking forward to channelizing my energies productively.
Soon thereafter, I was writing for some prestigious publications and penning down eBooks. I had clients all over the world, and 24 hours a day just did not seem enough! Besides keeping my mind occupied, it was bringing in some extra pocket money too. I was earning $1600-1800 a month within 6 months of getting started. And considering that I am not expected to use any of my earnings towards household expenses, it was a decent amount for extra shopping and a fabulous holiday twice every year!!! :)
I was over the moon- understandably!
What was missing was recognition and acclaim for my work. I wanted to be known for the work I’d done, and that led me into setting up my first blog- healthtipscafe last May.
I did make some initial blunders but it taught me a lot too. I began with my current blog around X-mas 212 & I’m getting good hits daily at this one.
Blogging is a great way of sharing your knowledge and of reaching out to like minded people.
Thanks for giving me a chance to promote myself here. :)
