I am definitely “a work in progress” when it comes to the Fashion Department. I definitely know what I like which leans towards the classics with clean lines. But I sometimes will like to intensify the look or give it a little zing with something sparkly and dramatic using jewelry to accessorize. I think that my look is pretty exotic and dramatic enough so when I do dress for a special occasion I’ll choose something that doesn’t distract others meaning I usually don’t go for big, huge patterns on clothing. I am not a “look at my handbag!” kind of gal nor do I go for bright colors. That may change. I’m pretty flexible and will listen to my friends in the industry.

Fashion Spot is the place where we’re going to learn from my friends in the fashion industry who love what they do. They are fashion mavens and fashionistas. They are exceptional in what they do because first and foremost they are passionate Curvy Fashion Goddesses.

Steffany Bready is my wonderful, beautiful friend who works for Manolo Blahnik. I have so much fun with Steffy because she just overflows with amazing energy when she talks about fashion and just life itself. Steffy also attends my Curvy Goddess Workout held live in NYC BTW. New York City called her through an opportunity to attend FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology). Her fashion focus was in Accessories Design while attending. This was the beginning of Steffy’s fashion adventure. She has worked for Michael McCollum, Byron Lars, and now Manolo Blahnik.

Even before heading to NYC, fashion was an integral part of her early growing years.
“My grandfather was a tailor so he and my grandmother were always dressed to the nines! Early on, my mother taught me the difference between “play clothes” and “dress clothes”! While in high school, I never liked dressing like everyone else. So I used to make and design clothes everyday just so I could stand out and be different.” I think we’re going to have lot’s of fun learning from Steffy.

Another Curvy Fashion Goddess is Allison McGevna, an up and coming Curvy Supermodel. She has been a feature model for Baby Phat, Dereon, Roca Wear and Apple Bottoms. Along with being gorgeous, she’s got brains and super drive. She graduated with high honors form Rutgers University and has a Masters in American History from Northwestern University. Currently she is a writer and producer for FOXNews.com and she is spearheading the development of a style section featuring fashion finds for women of all sizes and socioeconomic backgrounds. Wow I can’t wait to pick Allison’s brain. I’m sure there’s so much valuable and inspiring information we’ll receive from this magnificent Curvy Goddess!

The last Curvy Fashion Goddess that I’d like to mention is Sommer Johnson. She is the publisher of the very popular, hot, and sensational Fashion/Lifesyle Magazine devoted for the Curvy Woman, Gemini Magazine. I am currently the fitness columnist for this winning magazine. I must tell you that I am so proud to be a part of the Gemini Team. Sommer had launched the magazine a year ago. What drove her to take that particular action? She was so frustrated with the way the media was portraying Curvy Women. I suggest you all subscribe to this magazine. It’s free and it absolutely inspires you. Every single page does this. We certainly will be able to get some golden fashion nuggets from this Curvy Goddess.

So this is an extremely general overview of what Fashion Spot is. CGL will cover fashion relevant for the “Empowered Curvy Goddess.” Fashion is an element that expresses how an “Empowered Curvy Goddess” looks and feels about herself and how the world sees her — fabulous, beautiful, and powerful.
