This lifelong desire is starting to get very interesting. Totally blew it for the past ten days maybe I should say ten years. No not really…I need to start cutting myself some slack and I’m in the process…always in the process.

I need to understand that while I’m still alive I will always be in the process. The notion of failing only occurs if I quit, never striving to achieve again or when I stop living.

The feelings of frustration with my body and being a slave to food is tiresome and consumes me once in a while but I never stop searching for an answer to peace. How do I be at peace with being who I am and what I am so I may re-create whatever I’d like, in this case, re-creating a body and achieving physical mastery?

I need help. I need guidance. I need an expert who has the knowledge and the emotional sensitivity to really help me with this important goal of mine.

I think I have found him. Rolando is my new trainer…and WOW!

I am excited about this embarkment into new territory. I’m going to another level. Curvy Goddesses if you’re interested you may follow me on my site, WarriorGoddessTV.com. It’ll be all about my journey…documenting my feelings, the peaks and dips and the actual method for my desired achievement.

It’ll be quite an adventure full of physical and emotional pain I’m sure. While I peel the layers of fat off my body I will surely peel the emotional layers of insecurity and protection. Whoa! SCARY!!

And when you share this with me I just listen but there are a few thoughts streaming in my head while I watch and listen to you speak of what’s stopping you from what you want, what you deserve, and what you need.

Don’t get me wrong…You have no idea that I want this for you as much as you want this for yourself. I just can take a few steps back and really see what’s going on.

I can’t force you to do what you are afraid to do. Yes I said it. Afraid…You mean I’m afraid to lose weight, get into an exercise routine, and be healthy? Ummmm…yeah. Not only are you afraid of going through the process but afraid of achieving the result. Just a thought.

The “Limiting Beliefs” blog posts are going to be about the endless excuses, myths, and thoughts about ourselves, exercise, and nutrition that are powerful barriers that stop you from getting to that curvy firm, healthy lifestyle, and body that you truly want.

Here are some basic belief barriers:

It’s really hard to start, to do it. Ok…so what? Doesn’t mean that it’s not doable, achievable even for you, the only Curvy Goddess on the planet who can’t lose the weight or get to that desired look she wants for her body.

I don’t know how. Then find out how. Hire a reputable personal trainer. Get some fitness coaching. Go take a fitness class that you enjoy. Go outside for a walk. Just start now…

The words you choose give me a lot of information about where you are in the process – if you’re ready…what’s holding you back…what you use to hold you back.

I have a Curvy Goddess who takes my Curvy Goddess Workout. This beautiful funny Goddess shares a lot. She doesn’t censor anything so it gives me this great opportunity to really get into her thoughts without having to ask her. In the beginning of her journey with me whenever she worked out she would state her physical limitations.

So the whole hour she would share with me her “limitations”, what was going on in her head. I just knew that if she stuck to this for a couple of weeks it would change. I’ve been in the business for quite some time to know that it happens. When someone is consistent with exercise, if it’s intense enough and specific to their physical goals, transformation occurs.

The Curvy Goddess stuck to it. She never talks about her “limitations” although they’re not going away anytime soon. But the point is she doesn’t talk about them because that’s not what’s going on in her head. Instead she tells me how she can spring up the stairs and has great posture and went down a dress size. She doesn’t have to say she’s proud of herself.

It’s all in her carriage, the thoughts she chooses to think, and the words she chooses to speak.

I’m on my first day in preparation for my big photo shoot. I weighed myself and I was okay with it. I am trying to wrap my mind around the number, shifting to the idea that it’s just a number and only a method to chart and track my progress. That’s it! Nothing more…but we Curvy Goddesses give it too much power.

DAMN scale!

A particular number can catapult us into a state of shame, disappointment, and even disgust in ourselves! Or a number can make us feel on top of the world ready to conquer…for an hour or two before we have our first meal of the day.

Then we get back on searching for something…validation…comfort…love…a beautiful life that we think we can own because of a certain weight.

211 lbs. means FAT, disgusting, lazy, depressed, lonely woman…197 lbs. means better, good person, attractive…180 lbs. might mean attractive enough to get the guy that you want, sexy…150 lbs…Forget it! Anything and anyone is yours!

Ah, the strange things that we are programmed to think. The scary part is we adopt it as our own. It’s not, we get a lot of help.

I am preparing for a very special photo shoot and need to get my body in crazy, curvy firm shape. What really is more important is getting that mind straight…that mind in crazy shape with an attitude expressing an “I love my Self and my Body” Spirit. To be honest, sometimes it’s not there. I understand that I am human and sometimes I aim high in the stratosphere when it comes to my expectations for myself. Being aware of this helps me understand that if I don’t hit it today I will proceed further the next day.

Today, I decided that it would be a wonderful thing to share to the Curvy Community my process in the preparation for this photo shoot. I want to focus on the process to get to the end result but process is the most important. So instead of it being a torturous process filled with deprivation and pain, it’ll be a process filled with many moments of joy, respect, love, being in the present, and the realization of what an amazing and powerful Curvy Goddess I am.

Videos of my workouts and my personal thoughts will be a major feature in sharing with you and my process.

The weight loss is secondary. I want to feel super strong, just like Athena. I want to feel beautiful just like Aphrodite. I want to feel radiant and be receptive, just like Persephone.

I am quite clear that my process with my tools of resistance training and diet sans sugar and processed carbs will help me attain these Goddess-like attributes.

Stay tuned…

But he’s just a fashion designer…Probably not the epitome of the hero that you may picture in your mind to be, muscular, chiseled, wielding a sword around, and parading in a leather uniform like those sexy Spartans did. Oh those men were fierce! But this is the 21st Century and he definitely is courageous in his field to go against the grain.

Mark Fast, British designer, used three “plus size” models in his show during London Fashion Week. It created quite a stir. Two of his staff quit in reaction to his decision. The “plus size” models were 12 -14 UK which translates 10 -12 in US sizing. Not really plus size, but definitely these women were curvier and bigger in comparison to the standards in the modeling world. The fashion industry seems to lean toward fantasy and does not seem to have a grasp with who real woman are and what we wear. Instead we real women see the fantasy, pay close attention to the fantasy and it can dictate what we wear and how we see ourselves.

Mark made a decision that hopefully will last and effect the fashion industry in a positive way — create some shift. When one is in a world that is all about fantasy and extremes then your mind thinks that is the norm. Watching the show and reading the comments about the show — that he’s advocating being fat and obesity and being unhealthy, I’m thinking to myself that these people have already been conditioned to think that women who look like 8 years old girls in heels is normal and healthy. Watch the video guys! Am I missing something?

“I think it’s time really,” Fast expresses in a phone interview with CBC News. “There’s such beauty out there and it’s unfortunate that it’s only representative in one size.” Mark Fast is celebrating women with curves and they looked absolutely beautiful. Now coming from a fashion modeling background where I was a skilled runway model and around amazing runway models who had their walks down to a science, an effortless float and maybe some hip action if needed for a little spice, I’d like to have seen “plus” models who had beautiful walks to show off their beautiful bodies. Then they would’ve taken the show by storm! I don’t think “Fashion” is ready for that but I don’t want to keep that a secret for too long.
There’s something fulfilling for me to have that ability and opportunity to create something new in my life and without ever realizing until recently that I have this ability to constantly recreate my Self — from opera singer to fashion model to personal trainer to fitness expert for Curvy Women. It’s exciting to be in the beginning stages of recreating again.

I know what I want and the sense of purpose is strong–being able to participate in the process of a woman’s transformation. One moment watching, observing a woman and knowing that she’s hiding her “greatness” in hopes that she will save herself from the pain of growth, of transformation and listening to the words that she uses to apologize for the beautiful Curvy Goddess that she is. And then having the honor of being present to the indescribable radiance that this Curvy Goddess emits from her Light, seeing her reach out to the world around her, listening to the words that she uses to love her Self.

Being a guide and leader for women to go through the process of transformation is my purpose. Curvy Goddess Lounge is the place where information and inspiration are shared and received. Curvy Goddess Lounge is the meeting place for all Curvy Goddesses with the desire to reinvent themselves.
